The groundbreaking event utilized Ocean Outdoor’s DeepScreen® ALIVE technology, elevating the digital out-of-home (DOOH) experience to new heights by incorporating live reactions from the on-site spectators.

The event, titled Samsung Gaming Hub Challenge feat. Rocket League, showcased a 15-minute intense gaming showdown on London’s Piccadilly Lights, where influencers @ApparentlyJxck and @Vatira5 battled it out for the prestigious title of Samsung Gaming Hub Champion.

To bring this spectacular event to life, Ocean Labs and Ocean Studio collaborated to design a captivating 3D animation of a Samsung Smart TV, presenting the game as if onlookers were watching it on their own TV sets. Technological Integration: Red Dot implemented a solution using BrightSign media players and the Signagelive Content Management System (CMS). Nearly 200 screens were deployed across 16 countries, including North America, Africa, the Middle East, South America, Australia, Europe, and Asia. The screens, powered by BrightSign XD235 media players with Signagelive software, were configured and tested at Red Dot’s Carlsbad, CA facility before global installation.

Overcoming Global Challenges: Red Dot’s expertise in managing international projects was crucial, particularly in addressing unique customs requirements and shipping challenges in diverse destinations like Brazil, Pakistan, Iraq, and Zanzibar. Seamless Onsite Deployment: Deploying and integrating equipment at more than a dozen airport locations presented diverse challenges. Red Dot’s specialists collaborated with local IT staff, configuring networks and ensuring seamless content updates from the cloud. Efficiency through Template Utilization: Red Dot leveraged the Signagelive CMS to build on dnata’s existing templates, resulting in significant cost savings and an accelerated deployment timeline. Two master screen layouts were developed, featuring zones for marketing and HR content, a custom content ticker, local date & time, and the company logo.

Global Deployment Expertise: Red Dot’s design qualifications, expertise in the BrightSign and Signagelive ecosystem, and successful track record in global deployments made them the preferred partner for this extensive project. With prior experience deploying 36 locations in the United States for dnata, Red Dot’s existing relationship with the client played a crucial role in the project’s success.
