Together for Cinema has recently completed its 42nd project – a state-of-the-art cinema room at The Creative Space Centre in Preston, Lancashire. This project represents a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to bring joy and entertainment to those in need.
The opening ceremony was on December 4, 2023, with Graham Liver, a radio personality from Radio Lancashire, underscoring the project’s community impact. This installation at The Creative Space Centre, the UK’s largest multi-sensory centre, marks a continuation of the Centre’s over 30-year legacy of providing sensory support to individuals with additional needs.
The Centre, known for its state-of-the-art lighting, visuals, and sound equipment, offers a fully tailored sensory experience to its over 700 weekly visitors. These visitors come from various backgrounds, including special schools, nursing homes, and support groups. The newly installed cinema room enhances these offerings, allowing for an even more immersive and enjoyable experience for the Centre’s clients.
The Creative Space Centre’s commitment to evolving and creating bespoke experiences for those with additional needs is further exemplified by this new installation. The centre caters to a wide range of individuals, including those with autism, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and mental health issues, providing them, their carers, and families with an invaluable resource.
Together for Cinema’s collaboration with The Creative Space Centre illustrates the powerful impact of community and technology coming together to improve the lives of those with additional needs. This latest installation is not just a room with a screen; it’s a gateway to new experiences, learning opportunities, and moments of joy for many.
