As the first of its kind under the Sharp brand, the A201U is designed to meet the needs of various sectors, including higher education, corporate environments, museums, and leisure applications. This new model is noted for its high brightness, compact form, quiet operation, and energy-efficient design.

A201U Key Features and Performance

The Sharp A201U delivers a high brightness output of 20,000 lumens and WUXGA resolution, making it suitable for large venues and professional settings where clarity and image quality are essential. It stands out as the only LCD projector in its category to use an RB laser light source, which enhances red color reproduction for lifelike visuals. The projector also supports a near-DCI-P3 color space, providing one of the widest color gamuts available in an LCD projector.

Additionally, the A201U incorporates an IP5X-rated sealed optical engine to protect internal components from dust, maintaining image quality without the need for regular filter cleaning. This ensures long-term performance and reduced maintenance, making it ideal for continuous operation in high-traffic areas.

Flexibility is a significant feature of the Sharp A201U. It offers multiple lens options from Sharp/NEC’s portfolio and maintains compatibility with legacy lenses from the PA Series, allowing users to customize the projector setup according to their specific needs. The device includes free tilt and portrait installation capabilities, as well as advanced geometric adjustments to ensure precise image alignment. Other features, such as picture-in-picture functionality and camera-based blending, add to its versatility.

For streamlined installation, the A201U includes an HDBaseT-out interface, enabling daisy-chaining of multiple projectors using network cables for easier connectivity to a single source. This feature is particularly beneficial for larger installations that require multiple projectors to work in unison.

To simplify setup and system management, the projector is compatible with ProAssist, a software tool designed to manage various settings, including picture adjustment, lens positioning, geometric correction, blending, color uniformity, and white balance across multiple projectors. ProAssist supports automatic camera-based adjustments, making it easier to achieve uniform visuals in complex multi-projector installations.

The Sharp A201U’s compact size and efficient design help reduce power consumption while delivering high brightness levels. This combination makes it suitable for use in environments such as university lecture halls, corporate auditoriums, and immersive exhibits where energy efficiency and visual impact are critical. Peerless-AV Launches Redesigned SmartMount Articulating Wall Mounts for Large Displays

0

Peerless-AV, a leading provider of AV solutions, has introduced three newly redesigned SmartMount Articulating Wall Mounts. The updated models—SA752PU, SA761PU, and SA771PU—are designed to support larger displays ranging from 43” to 90” and offer enhanced durability, smoother articulation, and easier installation. These improvements aim to meet the growing demand for versatile mounting systems in industries such as hospitality, education, corporate, and government.

Key Enhancements for Large Displays

The redesigned SmartMount models are built with high-quality steel and cast aluminum arms, ensuring long-term strength and stability for larger and heavier displays. The use of brass bushings enables smoother movement, allowing for easy positioning of displays without compromising safety.

In response to the trend toward larger screens, the updated models feature longer arms for an expanded viewing range. The enhanced adapter brackets also offer greater flexibility in VESA mounting patterns, allowing for more versatile placement. Additionally, Peerless-AV’s Hook and Hang™ system has been refined with a larger landing area, simplifying the process of attaching heavier displays.

The models are finished with a durable powder coating, making them resistant to scratches and chips, ensuring a sleek appearance even with frequent adjustments.

Simplified Installation and Enhanced Flexibility

The SmartMount Articulating Wall Mount series has been designed with installers in mind, offering several features that streamline the installation process. The I-shaped adapter helps center displays, while the Locking Tilt mechanism allows for easy adjustment to the perfect viewing angle. The mounts also allow for up to 90 degrees of pivoting and 5-degree post-installation leveling, enabling fine-tuning after installation.

The SA752PU model supports display extension up to 765mm (30.1”) from the wall, while the SA761PU and SA771PU models extend up to 774mm (30.5”). All models can retract to just 76mm (3.0”) from the wall for a more compact installation. A newly improved horizontal adjustment range of ±8.0” (203mm) ensures that displays can be centered on walls, even if the stud spacing is uneven.

Improved Cable Management and Accessibility

The redesigned mounts feature enhanced cable management, including snap-in covers that conceal hardware and wall plates for a clean and professional look. The open-access design and In-Wall box accessories (IB14X9-W, IB14X14-W) allow for flexible power and AV device placement, making it easier to access and manage cables during installation. The versatile wall plate supports stud spacings of 406mm (16”), 508mm (20”), and up to 609mm (24”) with the ACC-SAWPE accessory.

Nick Belcore, Executive Vice President at Peerless-AV, emphasized the importance of adapting to market trends. “These mounts reflect the changing requirements for LCD display installations. Our goal is to provide reliable, future-proof solutions that enhance the installation process for a wide range of applications.”

The new SmartMount Articulating Wall Mount series is now available and designed to accommodate the growing demand for durable and versatile mounting solutions in various sectors. For more information visit Peerless-AV’s website at https://eu.peerless-av.com/

Clear Channel’s Adshel Live Network Reaches 3,500 Screens

0

Clear Channel UK has expanded its Adshel Live network to 3,500 screens, maintaining its position as the UK’s largest digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) network. Since its launch in 2015, Adshel Live has played a significant role in the growth of DOOH advertising in the UK, offering advertisers extensive reach and proximity to key retail locations.

The installation of the 3,500th screen in Southampton marks a major milestone for the network, which now operates in 350 cities and towns across the UK. Of these, 205 locations feature Adshel Live’s digital roadside footprint. According to Route 51 data, the network delivers over 628 million impacts and reaches 36 million individuals fortnightly, covering 66% of the UK. Its fortnightly reach is 32% greater than that of all other roadside digital 6-sheets combined.

This expansion aligns with the increase in DOOH revenue within the broader Out of Home (OOH) advertising sector. According to Outsmart/PWC, DOOH revenue has risen from 32% in 2015 to 65% in 2023, indicating the network’s growing effectiveness in reaching audiences and attracting advertiser investment.

Adshel Live’s placement strategy emphasizes proximity to key retail locations. The network covers twice as many Boots and top four grocery locations as its nearest competitors, with screens often positioned within 500 meters of key retail stores. This strategic placement allows advertisers to engage with consumers near essential shopping points, potentially influencing purchasing decisions.

Joanna Williams, Head of Media UK at Samsung Electronics, highlighted the network’s role in advertising campaigns: “Adshel Live delivers a powerful dual role in our campaigns – a high-quality broadcast presence that can reach a mass audience, and coverage of key retail hotspots to ensure that our products are always visible near stores to drive sales.”

In its expansion, Clear Channel has placed a strong focus on sustainability. Each new or upgraded Adshel Live screen is designed to be 50% more energy-efficient than previous models. Additionally, the company uses 100% renewable energy and has implemented energy-saving measures by turning off screens between 12 am and 5 am, reducing energy consumption by 16%.

Beyond its commercial impact, the network also contributes to community engagement and social causes. The Out of Home industry returns 46p of every £1 in revenue to the communities where it operates. In 2023, Clear Channel donated £20 million worth of advertising space to various charitable organizations, including The Prince’s Trust, Keep Britain Tidy, and the ADHD Foundation – Neurodiversity Charity.

Conrad Bird, Director of Cross-Government Campaigns & Marketing, Government Communication Service, commented on the network’s role in public communication: “Adshel Live serves as a vital public notice board for us, allowing us to disseminate important information quickly and reliably.”
