PPDS, the global provider of Philips Professional Displays, has announced a significant milestone in the sales of its Philips MediaSuite hotel TV range, which has become the bestselling hospitality TV across Europe. The Philips MediaSuite series, known for its integration of Google Cast™ and Netflix compatibility, has gained widespread popularity in the hospitality sector since its launch in 2019, transforming in-room entertainment for hotel guests.
Designed specifically for the hospitality industry, Philips MediaSuite TVs offer hotel guests a home-like entertainment experience, providing access to popular streaming services such as Netflix, and features like Google Cast™ and voice control. This user-friendly technology has made the Philips MediaSuite a top choice for both new and existing hotels.
According to the latest data from research firm Omdia, Philips MediaSuite achieved record sales in Q1 and Q2 of 2024, with a market share exceeding 40% in the Benelux region and over 45% in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). In France and the Nordics, the TV series has secured more than 50% and 59% market share respectively, with one in every two hotels in Sweden now opting for the Philips MediaSuite. Overall, sales in certain regions of Western Europe increased by 25% compared to the same period last year.
The Philips MediaSuite range, available in sizes from 19” to 75”, has sold over half a million units globally. Leading hotel groups including Accor, Marriott, Radisson, and Wyndham are among the brands adopting this technology.
In addition to its European success, Philips MediaSuite is also performing well in international markets, holding the number one position in China and Australia, and seeing growth in North America following its introduction in 2021.
Philips MediaSuite is recognized for its advanced features that enhance the guest experience. Guests can stream their own content from popular apps like Apple TV+, Disney+, Prime Video, and YouTube™ using Google Cast™, eliminating the need for additional hardware. These TVs also offer hotel managers extensive remote management and personalization tools, allowing them to optimize the in-room experience and meet guest preferences.
Jeroen Verhaeghe, Global Business Development Director for Hospitality at PPDS, expressed his enthusiasm for the continued success of Philips MediaSuite: “Our goal was to provide a solution that aligns with the modern guest’s expectations, offering familiar features like streaming services and interactive options to enhance the hotel experience.”
Martijn van der Woude, VP Global Marketing and Business Development at PPDS, highlighted the company’s leadership in innovation: “Philips MediaSuite has set a new benchmark in the hospitality TV market.
