Sharp LCD Monitors European Handball FederationMulti-Monitor Systems for Displaying Courtside Advertising at Handball Matches

Sharp Corporation has recently provided the European Handball Federation (EHF; headquarters in Vienna, Austria) with two large digital signage systems, each consisting of multiple 60-inch LCD monitors. The systems will be set up and operated at EHF-hosted match venues, including those where EHF Champions League matches are held.

Used for the courtside display of advertisements, these multi-monitor systems each comprise a total of 30 Sharp PN-V601 60-inch LCD monitors boasting ultra-slim bezels that make the lines between neighboring monitors nearly seamless. To ensure safety, the surface of the LCD monitors is covered with a transparent protective sheet. These display systems were designed for transport to various venues throughout Europe and can be set up and dismantled in a short period of time.

Mood Media Named Canada’s Fastest-Growing Company

Mood Media Corporation a leading provider of in-store media solutions, has been named the fastest-growing company in Canada by PROFIT Magazine. This recognition highlights the company’s remarkable growth and performance over recent years.

In 2010, Mood Media reported sales of US$145 million, reflecting a substantial 72,384% increase since 2005. This rapid expansion has earned the company the top spot on the PROFIT 200 list, which identifies Canada’s most successful growth enterprises. Following the acquisition of U.S.-based Muzak, Mood Media now boasts trailing twelve months (LTM) revenue of approximately US$400 million on a pro forma basis and LTM EBITDA exceeding US$114 million.

Established in 2005, Mood Media has quickly become a global leader in in-store media through innovative music licensing, media convergence, and strategic acquisitions.

Lorne Abony, CEO and Chairman of Mood Media, expressed his pride in the company’s achievements. “Being named Canada’s fastest-growing company by PROFIT Magazine is a significant honor and reflects the hard work of our team,” Abony said. “Our focus on enhancing consumer experiences and driving sales has been central to our success.”

The PROFIT 200 list ranks companies based on five-year revenue growth and is featured in the summer issue of PROFIT Magazine and online at PROFITguide.com. This list represents the largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial success in Canada.

Abony also noted the ongoing opportunities for growth in the in-store media sector, citing the low global market penetration as a significant opportunity for future expansion. “We are well-positioned to leverage these opportunities,” he added.

Ian Portsmouth, Editor-in-Chief of PROFIT Magazine, commented on the significance of the PROFIT 200 companies. “These innovative, high-growth companies are essential for Canada’s competitive edge on the global stage,” Portsmouth said.

Singlewire Releases Paging Gateway to Enhance Remote Notification Capabilities

0

Singlewire Software, LLC, has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the Singlewire Paging Gateway™, a crucial development designed to extend the reach of InformaCast® mass notification and overhead paging systems to remote locations without multicast support. This new solution offers a significant enhancement for large organizations facing challenges in effective audio notification distribution across geographically dispersed sites.

The Paging Gateway transforms InformaCast audio broadcasts from multicast to a unicast stream, which can be easily received and redistributed at remote sites to a variety of endpoints like IP phones, IP speakers, analog paging systems, and computer desktops. This process ensures that all locations receive critical communications simultaneously, regardless of network limitations.

Comprising a server, application, and plugin, the Paging Gateway can operate on a stand-alone hardware appliance provided by Singlewire, a physical server, or a VMware virtual server. This flexibility allows for tailored installation that suits different organizational needs and infrastructure layouts.

Ken Bywaters, Executive Vice President of Product Development at Singlewire, emphasized the benefits of this new system, stating, “The Singlewire Paging Gateway provides organizations many more options for designing and deploying mass notification, emergency communication, and overhead paging systems when limited bandwidth is an issue. This delivers a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective solution for large or geographically dispersed organizations using InformaCast.”

The Paging Gateway is compatible with InformaCast version 8.0.1, which supports a wide range of communication modalities including audio messages to IP speakers, Cisco IP phones, and more. It also facilitates routine alerts such as bell tones for schools and shift changes in industrial settings.

For additional information or to view a detailed video about the Singlewire Paging Gateway, please visit www.singlewire.com/paging-gateway.

Digital Advertising Media Opportunities with “SPLASH” Point of Sales

0

“It is a new way of seduction in order to engage customers’ attention through the source of water.”
Sylvia Karmann, Marketing Manager at Aquamedia.

Aquamedia Advertising WaterdispenserAquamedia Advertising is a digital outdoor advertising company located in Barcelona and was founded in April 2010. Aquamedia consists of a team of professionals with experience in IT and advertising. This young and innovative company is planning to stay ahead of the game and introduced a smart way to combine interactive digital media with advertising opportunities offering a new way of advertising, a water dispenser called “SPLASH”.

The Challenges in Customer Engagement

Most companies face the continuous struggle of “how”, “when”, “where” and “against what price” should I advertise my products with the mutual goal to target the right audience, at the right place and time and to get the highest return on investment. Marketers are challenged with choosing the right medium to entice and persuade a consumer to buy a product. Media tools are increasing day by day with the boom of social media and the numerous ways of digital media. Yet the power lies in choosing the right medium at the right moment to target the right audience. Aquamedia saw it as a great opportunity to use the recent IT developments and its experience in the world of advertising to offer something unique to its customers.

The Concept

Digital Signage is a growing industry with endless possibilities. Aquamedia confirms this by introducing a smart and innovated tool for advertising. Aquamedia introduced “SPLASH”, a product that consists of a water tap including a touchscreen display of 23 inches and 3 LCD displays of 42 inches, one on each side,   for commercial advertising. The advertising shown is created by the design department of Aquamedia, customized to advertisers’ needs. The content can have a length of 10 or 20 seconds. Aquamedia wants to offer its services not only to the big brands, but also to the local clients, who do not deal with the latest technology as much as the national clients.

The system is built with the most advanced technology so it allows marketers to use complex and graphically strong video and motion pictures. The added value consists of the offering of water that represents a service and creating an experience with the visual enhancements and advertising opportunities during the waiting time of pouring a cup of water. Thanks to the touchscreen, customers are invited to interact with the system influencing the customers buying behaviour.

Aquamedia offers a total service package including creation, installation and monitoring of the responses. Aquamedia collects the user data by recording the customer behaviour at the touchscreen, making it possible for advertisers to view the response rates.  The success of the integration is key to the following conditions: location, visibility, space, the amount of people passing by and their characteristics. Waiting areas seem to be most effective.

The Solution

“SPLASH” consists of strong hardware and software: containing AOpen Digital Engine, Admira software and NEC displays.  Aquamedia built the whole concept and also creates content for each assignment to fit the customer needs. The system has 4 screens in total: 3x 42 inch displays positioned on the left, right and back side and 1x 23 inch touchscreen on the front side. In total four Digital Engines are placed in one system to support high graphic motion video content. The system allows management from a single remote location, which is a big advantage for multiple installations that run the same content.  Currently Aquamedia finished installations in the “Hospital Clinic” in Barcelona and the shopping centre “Parc Vallés” in Terrassa with many more to follow.

“Our main goal is to overcome current barriers in the world of advertising media to deliver and manage advertising content that is visible, attractive and profitable and always providing an added value” concludes Sylvia Karmann, Marketing Manager at Aquamedia.
