Mood Media Corporation a leading provider of in-store media solutions, has been named the fastest-growing company in Canada by PROFIT Magazine. This recognition highlights the company’s remarkable growth and performance over recent years.
In 2010, Mood Media reported sales of US$145 million, reflecting a substantial 72,384% increase since 2005. This rapid expansion has earned the company the top spot on the PROFIT 200 list, which identifies Canada’s most successful growth enterprises. Following the acquisition of U.S.-based Muzak, Mood Media now boasts trailing twelve months (LTM) revenue of approximately US$400 million on a pro forma basis and LTM EBITDA exceeding US$114 million.
Established in 2005, Mood Media has quickly become a global leader in in-store media through innovative music licensing, media convergence, and strategic acquisitions.
Lorne Abony, CEO and Chairman of Mood Media, expressed his pride in the company’s achievements. “Being named Canada’s fastest-growing company by PROFIT Magazine is a significant honor and reflects the hard work of our team,” Abony said. “Our focus on enhancing consumer experiences and driving sales has been central to our success.”
The PROFIT 200 list ranks companies based on five-year revenue growth and is featured in the summer issue of PROFIT Magazine and online at PROFITguide.com. This list represents the largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial success in Canada.
Abony also noted the ongoing opportunities for growth in the in-store media sector, citing the low global market penetration as a significant opportunity for future expansion. “We are well-positioned to leverage these opportunities,” he added.
Ian Portsmouth, Editor-in-Chief of PROFIT Magazine, commented on the significance of the PROFIT 200 companies. “These innovative, high-growth companies are essential for Canada’s competitive edge on the global stage,” Portsmouth said.
