Mesquites’ Brightest Idea Since Incandescent Bulbs
Daktronics Inc. (NASDAQ-DAKT) recently upgraded from incandescent bulbs to two new LED displays at the CasaBlanca and Virgin River Casinos. The displays are located in the city of Mesquite, Nev.; Daktronics GalaxyPro® digital display measures approximately 30 feet wide by 20 feet tall.
Having used incandescent bulbs for years the casinos were looking for more effective promotion and less expense. The upgrade to LED resulted in a power savings of 90 percent for the casinos. Not only do LED displays result in lower power bills, but they also require minimum maintenance. Incandescent lamps often fail and burn out, while LEDs offer a consistent, vibrant image for many years.
“Out of all the signs I have seen in Vegas and around the country, Daktronics stood out as the best quality, the brightest and the highest resolution,” said Anthony Toti, chief executive officer of CasaBlanca and Virgin River Casinos
Former Mesquite mayor, Susan Holacheck, said the city is proud of how the displays look. The city of Mesquite also plans to install its own LED display along Interstate 15 between Las Vegas, Arizona and Utah.
“The signs are absolutely the best looking and most modern signs travelers see anywhere during the 85-mile stretch between the Las Vegas Strip and Mesquite,” said Cyndy Jezzard, Daktronics’ Las Vegas Sales Representative.
