Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) was honored by the sports industry last night in New York at the annual Sports Business Journal’s Sports Business Awards. The company won the top honor in the Best in Sports Technology category for its work in developing venue-wide digital systems that enable its customers to provide a superior game-day experience for their fans and corporate partners.
Daktronics products such as Show Control, new video display technologies, and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) systems are just some of the components that make up the important systems that the company’s sports venue customers need to put on a superior show for their patrons. These recent developments have been very important in Daktronics securing projects over the past two years. The company’s work at the Amway Center in Orlando, the New Meadowlands Stadium, and the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, three venues that opened recently, were highlighted in the award nomination.
These developments allow Daktronics to provide venue-wide integrated systems, in effect creating a blank “digital canvas” on which customers can show live video, create memorable sponsor messages, show an endless variety of data and stats on multiple displays, and provide an even better game-day experience to keep fans coming back.
“Winning this award was very gratifying, and it is a tribute to the great work done by all the employees of Daktronics in helping our customers achieve their goals,” said Jay Parker, National Sales Manager for the company’s Large Sports Venues group.”Congratulations to all the nominees and award winners. And special thanks to our customers who have trusted us with their business over the years.”
