Ocean Outdoor has revealed a series of senior leadership promotions, set to take effect on January 1, 2025, as part of its strategy to drive the next phase of growth. The changes, announced by incoming Group CEO Stephen Joseph, aim to enhance performance and strengthen alignment across the company’s international operations.
Key Leadership Appointments
The company has made the following senior appointments:
- Phil Hall has been promoted to the newly created role of Group Chief Commercial Officer while continuing as UK CEO.
- Billy Byam-Cook, currently Group Head of Finance, will step into the role of Group Chief Financial Officer. He will collaborate with Hall to oversee commercial contracts and manage cross-border agency relationships.
- Nick Shaw, previously UK Chief Revenue Officer, becomes UK Chief Commercial Officer.
In addition, two other senior leaders will take on expanded responsibilities:
- Richard Malton transitions from Chief Marketing Officer to Group Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer.
- Helen Haines, formerly Head of Brand and Events, assumes the role of Director of Strategic Marketing.
Stephen Joseph emphasized that the leadership changes reflect Ocean Outdoor’s commitment to maintaining its position as a leading digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising business.
“Our new senior leadership team brings together a wealth of expertise to support our strategy,” said Joseph. “As we enter a new period of organic growth and M&A activity, the team will focus on aligning best practices in sales, marketing, asset development, and technological innovation to deliver value for our clients, agencies, and landlord partners.”
Over the past year, Ocean Outdoor has significantly invested in its creative and brand innovation capabilities. This includes expansion within Ocean Labs, the company’s brand experience and innovation unit, and Ocean Studios, its in-house creative production and consultancy team.
Catherine Morgan, Group Managing Director of Ocean Labs, and David Tait, Group Creative Director, will continue to lead these divisions. They are joined by Steve George, Group Chief Development Officer, in completing the Group leadership team.
