University of Georgia Soccer Baseball Softball with New Daktronics LED Video SystemsDaktronics (Nasdaq – DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., announced today that the University of Georgia has asked the company to design, manufacture and install integrated display systems for Turner Complex, Jack Turner Stadium and Foley Field, all on campus in Athens, Ga.

These installations will upgrade the eight-year-old displays with new high-definition LED video displays connected to the university’s recently constructed multi-million dollar control room located at Sanford Stadium. Connecting all of these displays to the new control room provides the university with the option to produce full live game-day productions at each venue.

“This is a great addition to our soccer, baseball and softball facilities and will help enhance the overall environment at each event,” said Alan Thomas, Associate Athletic Director for the University of Georgia Athletic Association. “Daktronics displays open up a whole new element that allows us to be best-in-class in all of our programs.”

The recently installed display in Turner Soccer Complex is 15 feet high by 32 feet wide. The display at Foley field will be 18 feet high by 53 feet wide and the display at Jack Turner Stadium will be 15 feet high by 27 feet wide. These two displays will be fully installed before their respective seasons begin.

All three of the new LED video displays feature 15HD technology that will incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with outstanding brightness and wide-angle visibility. They are all capable of showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays, or they can be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minutes statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

In the control room, Daktronics powerful Show Control System will integrate with these installations. Touted by experts as the best in the industry, the system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution. We truly appreciate the customer loyalty shown by UGA and look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with them.”
