Educating the industry on the value and effectiveness of digital place-based advertising
Captivate Network, the leading digital media company providing customized, actionable information to 430,000 on-the-go business professionals across Canada, is pleased to announced that Charles Vachon, the company’s vice president of sales for Canada, has been named chairman of the Canadian Out-of-Home Digital Association (CODACAN).
CODACAN represents industry leaders from across Canada to provide credible information and standards to drive demand for digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising. In his role as CODACAN chair, Vachon will help reinvigorate the organization as it continues its mission to educate advertisers and agencies on the purpose and value of DOOH.
“I’ve been engaged and excited by DOOH for more than ten years,” said Vachon. “When the opportunity arose to step into a national leadership position to explain and promote the category, I jumped at the chance. DOOH is a strong and growing sector in the Canadian advertising industry and together with the rest of the CODACAN leadership team, I intend to ensure it receives the attention it deserves.”
The organization has a number of initiatives planned for 2012 that will help keep it front and center for Canadian marketers. The first are events; the CODACAN Summit will take place in conjunction with Adlympics in Toronto on May 17th and the Soiree Nu shortly after in Montreal. Additionally, CODACAN will be conducting informative presentations with advertising agencies throughout the year.
“We’ve redesigned our Web site – oohdigital.ca, are planning some fun and informative events, and are looking forward to a successful 2012,” explained Vachon, “I’m happy to be in the thick of it.”
