How Nanonation’s Digital Signage Technology is Transforming Concert Venues Nationwide

0

Digital signage advertising is revolutionizing the concert experience at venues across the United States. A combination of cutting-edge digital signage software and remote access technology is enabling seamless content management across nearly 100 Live Nation venues. Through the integration of Nanonation’s digital signage platform and LogMeIn’s remote access tools, venues are able to deliver dynamic advertising and interactive content to concertgoers in real time.

Remote Digital Signage Management for Concert Venues

This powerful setup allows technical teams to manage digital content remotely, without needing to be physically present at the venues. Nanonation’s software platform enables the pre-programming of advertising and interactive content that runs before, during, and after performances. “Anytime the band isn’t on stage, digital signage takes over the screens,” explains a technical lead familiar with the operation, highlighting how these screens keep audiences engaged during breaks in live performances.

The digital signage network isn’t limited to traditional advertising. It also integrates audience interaction, allowing concertgoers to send text messages that are displayed on the screens. These messages, which are moderated for appropriateness, create an additional layer of engagement for the audience.

Increasing Audience Engagement and Driving Sales

This interactive feature also supports marketing efforts by enabling concertgoers to opt into receiving promotional offers and last-minute ticket deals. The level of audience engagement generated by the system has significantly increased over time. “At many venues, approximately 10 to 15 percent of the audience actively engages with the system,” the technical expert says, underscoring the success of the interactive platform.

In larger events, engagement rates can be even higher. For example, during a recent Jonas Brothers concert in Los Angeles, approximately 25,000 text messages were sent over the course of two shows, at a venue with a capacity of 4,000. This represents a substantial increase in interaction compared to earlier implementations, where engagement numbers were much lower.

Efficient, Pre-Programmed Content Delivery

The Nanonation system offers significant operational advantages by allowing the pre-scheduling of content. This means that all advertising and interactive elements are loaded into the system ahead of time, and they run automatically during the concert. “The system’s automation ensures that the right content is displayed at the right time, without requiring real-time oversight,” the technical expert explains.

The digital signage feed is controlled by the venue’s show director, who can switch between live performance footage and the pre-programmed content as needed. This creates a seamless transition for audiences between live action and digital displays.

Solving Technical Challenges with Remote Access

While the system is highly effective, technical issues can occasionally occur. In such cases, remote access is critical for quick troubleshooting. Initially, the team relied on Nanonation’s built-in remote access functionality, which was sometimes slow or unstable. However, with the implementation of LogMeIn’s remote access tool, technical teams can now resolve issues more efficiently. “Troubleshooting used to take up to 20 minutes, but now it can be done in under two minutes,” the technical lead notes. This efficiency enables quick fixes from any location, even via mobile devices.

Enhancing Advertiser Experience

The continuous operation of the digital signage system also benefits advertisers. With the video feed running 24/7, Live Nation’s sales teams can show potential clients exactly how their ads will appear on the screens during live events. This real-time demonstration of advertising placement enhances the sales process and helps secure new partnerships.
