In collaboration with the Carbon Intelligence Platform, Cedara, a supporter of Ad Net Zero, VIOOH discloses its programmatic DOOH (prDOOH) carbon emissions data for 2022, indicating an 18% reduction below the programmatic open web benchmark.

Cedara’s comprehensive measurement identifies VIOOH’s impression intensity carbon emissions at 0.28 grams CO2e per ad impression in 2022, notably below the Cedara ad platform benchmark of 0.34, derived from programmatic open web vendor data. This accomplishment follows a thorough greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory assessment conducted by Cedara, covering VIOOH’s operations, including programmatic media activity, a significant contributor to Scope 3 emissions.

In comparison, a March 2023 KPMG study in France on Energy Performance reports DOOH’s energy consumption at 0.32 gCO2e, notably lower than the 0.55-0.66 gCO2e range for digital internet media per audience impression.
