Alight Media is set to transform advertising in the iconic UK seaside town of Blackpool through a new partnership. Blackpool, known for its stunning coastal location and attracting 18 million visitors annually, will now feature cutting-edge digital advertising opportunities thanks to Alight Media’s latest venture, Alight Blackpool.

This collaboration will introduce 40 state-of-the-art 4K 85-inch digital 6-sheets and 20 modern bus shelters to Blackpool’s advertising landscape. These additions are expected to generate an impressive 20 million impressions per month, enhancing Alight’s national 6-sheet network.

What sets this partnership apart is the opportunity for advertisers to plan and purchase ad space in Blackpool’s bus shelters according to industry standards, with listings in SPACE, the IMS, and Route, aligning perfectly with Alight’s goal of reaching new and incremental audiences.

This venture is the latest expansion of Alight Media’s 6-sheet estate, which already includes contracts with prominent locations such as Warrington, Bournemouth, Telford, and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, encompassing Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, and Sheffield.

In June 2023, Route reported that 5.7 million adults now see Alight’s 6-sheets every month, surpassing the combined population of nine major UK cities. Dave Huckerby, Co-founder and Director of Alight Media, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Through this partnership with Blackpool Council, we will bring the first borough-wide digital 6-sheet network to this famous town. We will be installing the highest quality screens and sustainable bus shelter infrastructure to support the Blackpool community, while bringing an important new audience of residents and tourists to advertisers.”

In addition to the 6-sheet network, Alight Media’s national Digital 48 (D48) portfolio is expanding rapidly, now reaching 30.8 million people every month, establishing itself as the market leader for total D48 audience reach in the UK. Alight’s D48 network covers more regions and total towns than any other out-of-home (OOH) media owner.

In summary, Alight Media’s partnership with Blackpool Council signifies a significant step in the world of out-of-home advertising, providing advertisers with unparalleled access to both local residents and the multitude of tourists who visit Blackpool year after year.
