Fans at Venues Around the Country to Enjoy Enhanced Game Day Experience

College football fans are well-known for their affinity and loyalty to their teams. This year, there will be even more excitement at college football stadiums as Daktronics (Nasdaq-DAKT) turns on new integrated scoring and display systems around the country.

The recently completed renovation of the University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium included the addition of four new Daktronics HD-X corner end zone video boards (shown above) and two new digital ribbon boards. Each of the four new video displays measures approximately 21 feet high by 52 feet wide, providing fans in the now 101,000+ capacity stadium with great views of the action.

Another of this season’s largest new systems is at Indiana University’s Memorial Stadium, where more than 52,000 fans will enjoy live action and video replays in 4.4 trillion colors on a giant 36 foot high by 90 foot wide high definition screen. “The new scoreboard will enhance every aspect of the game day experience,” said Fred Glass, Vice President and Director of Athletics. “It will be a major part of the big time atmosphere we are creating at venues throughout campus.”

Lamar University begins its program anew after a 20 year hiatus from the sport. Jason Henderson, Associate Athletic Director at Lamar, is very excited about the start of a new tradition and a new Daktronics system. “The Daktronics equipment will enhance our football operations, enhance our game day experience, and put us up there with top universities when it comes to our facilities,” Henderson said. The new board is approximately 48 feet high and 88 feet wide, with a large LED video display positioned in the middle of the configuration.

Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo., is another school ready to kick off the season with a new integrated system in a newly renovated facility. Adams State chose Daktronics to design and build a system that incorporates a traditional scoreboard, LED video display and Sportsound® sound system. “The fan experience at the new stadium will be completely enhanced by this new system,” said Athletic Director Larry Mortensen. “Both the college football team and area high school teams will appreciate and enjoy the facility.”
