The LED Dome Display, featuring a spherical design with a 3-meter diameter, is built using AUO’s advanced ALED technology. This technology is known for delivering exceptional levels of brightness, resolution, dynamic range, and color gamut. Dr. Wei-Lung Liau, Chief Technology Officer at AUO, highlighted the potential of the LED Dome Display in creating unparalleled immersive experiences. He pointed out the advantage of LED technology in providing greater creative flexibility over traditional projection systems, which is critical for simulation and amusement applications.
Technical specifications of the display include an 18-bit color depth, support for HDR formats for enriched color experiences, and a 4K resolution image at a 120 Hz frame rate, ensuring smooth and detailed visuals. The display leverages AUO’s sphere image processing technology, enabling the transformation of standard flat images into spherical content suitable for the dome, enhancing real-time interaction with the content.
