Daktronics, Inc. of Brookings, S.D., recently provided Kennesaw State University with multiple state-of-the-art light emitting diode (LED) displays to the KSU Convocation Center. Located in Kennesaw, Ga., the KSU Convocation Center is home to both the men’s and women’s basketball programs, as well as women’s volleyball.
Daktronics, the leading designer and manufacturer of LED displays and programmable display systems, installed a wall-mounted video display that measures approximately 16 feet tall by 30 feet wide incorporating full-color LED pixels on 10 millimeter line spacing. The video board can operate as an independent display showing single large images or be divided into multiple windows to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animations and live and recorded video.
The new video display is the largest indoor display at any school in the Atlantic Sun Conference and KSU is only the second school in the conference to feature an indoor LED video display as USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C. is the other.
“Everything that Kennesaw State is doing is about excellence, and to be the best you have to work with the best,” Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams said. “Our partnership with Daktronics speaks volumes towards our continued quest for excellence as Daktronics is the best at what they do and we are very pleased with all the work they have done for us here at KSU.”
A new LED ribbon display and courtside LED scoring and media tables are included as part of the addition. The ribbon display measures approximately 73 feet in length with the capability of showing game information, real-time team and player statistics, animation and cropped video clips to raise the crowd’s interest and enthusiasm level. These displays can also be used in a variety of creative ways to recognize and activate sponsors. Three LED courtside media tables measure about 30 feet in length and will be able to be controlled independently or together. They offer a high level of advertising and display flexibility with vivid graphics and messages.
Also included in the installation will be a scorers’ table with LED scoreboard featuring back-lit sponsor panels on each side. Daktronics scoreboard scorer’s tables provide a sideline scoreboard for players and fans.
Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation. Touted by experts as the best in the industry, the system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution. “Daktronics is once again proud to partner with Kennesaw State University for this significant upgrade to the Convocation Center,” said Glen Marts, Daktronics Sales Representative. “These incredible upgrades will provide all associated with KSU athletics the best possible game day environment.”
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
