Rave Cinemas, the fifth-largest theater circuit in the United States by box office gross and number of screens, is innovating the movie-going experience with the rollout of digital signage across its 67 locations nationwide. This new technology aims to offer both information and entertainment, creating an immersive and visually rich experience for guests from the moment they enter the theaters.

The initiative includes replacing traditional LED box office signs with advanced digital displays that integrate seamlessly with box office systems. This integration enables real-time updates and enhances customer interaction by displaying timely information about movie schedules and seating availability. Additionally, the lobbies of Rave Cinemas are now equipped with wayfinding displays to assist guests in locating their auditoriums, further enriched with status updates indicating if the auditorium is ready for seating, undergoing cleaning, or currently showing a movie.

The digital transformation extends to the concession stands, where dynamic menu boards now offer promotions and suggestions tailored to moviegoers, enhancing the overall customer experience. Moreover, the coming attractions area has been upgraded with digital posters that include Full HD video trailers, modernizing the traditional movie poster displays and engaging audiences with high-quality previews of upcoming films.

At the core of this digital overhaul is the NEOCAST® platform by Real Digital Media, powered by NEXCOM’s NDiS 161 media players. These players are crucial for the high-definition content delivery across Rave Cinemas, supporting a variety of file formats and ensuring high reliability. The NDiS 161 media players are not only powerful but also versatile, allowing for remote management from Rave’s operations center in Dallas, TX. This centralized management capability enables Rave to monitor, update, and manage the digital signage effectively from a distance of over a thousand miles.

The deployment of such technology is especially prominent in locations like Las Vegas, where digital displays are a common sight. Here, Rave Cinemas’ advanced digital signage stands out by providing a continuous stream of high-definition content that captures the essence of the cinematic experience, appealing to both the visual and auditory senses of its patrons.

NEXCOM, the company behind the NDiS 161 media players, has a strong reputation for its high-quality, reliable technological solutions. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, NEXCOM has expanded globally with subsidiaries in multiple countries, continually advancing in technology innovation to meet international standards and client demands.
