Emarson plans to provide digital signage for Indian Army

In conjunction with Samsung, Scala has developed a special USB key that will reformat the flash drive or hard drive of a Samsung screen with Windows(r) Embedded and Scala 5 Player software. The USB key allows end users to use plug-and-play technology to more easily configure 690- or 780-based Samsung screens or Set Back Boxes for use in a Scala network.

The USB image key overrides the image that Samsung embeds in their screen PCs and converts it to a Scala player. This eliminates the need for customers to manually reconfigure their screens or Set Back Boxes, decreasing the amount of time required to install their network.

Canadian Show Jumping Tournament using Omnivex software to manage rider and spectator informational display network

Omnivex Corporation, Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and provider of enterprise-level software for digital signage networks, announced that their software will be used this week at the Canadian Show Jumping Tournament (CSJT), held in Palgrave, ON, at the Caledon Equestrian Park. Omnivex software will manage digital content on LCD screens at the equestrian park to provide riders and spectators with real-time scoring and competition results. The 5-day tournament runs from September 23 – 27.

The first video advert inside a print title has been published inside the American magazine Entertainment Weekly.

The small screen, built into a cardboard insert, contains an advert for Pepsi Max and trailers for US TV network, CBS.
There are also in-built speakers, so the viewer can hear the advert too.
“This is an extraordinary way to refresh how we interact with consumers,” said Pepsi-Cola’s chief marketing officer, Frank Cooper.
Chip technology is used to store the video – described as similar to that used in singing greeting cards – which is activated when the page is turned.
The slim-line screens – around the size of a mobile phone display – also have rechargeable batteries.
Each chip can hold up to 40 minutes of video.
