Marshall Electronics Offers Digital Room Signs Powered by X2O Media Software

The Marshall room signs are currently available in 12-inch and 18.5-inch sizes, with built-in processors, eliminating the need for separate player hardware.

The Marshall room signs are unique in the market. With a built-in processor, they eliminate the need for a separate outboard computer or processor, making them an ideal solution for applications that have space limitations. Marshall’s room signs are driven by X2O Media’s Xpresenter Meeting Manager software, which lets users to update room reservations and display meeting room schedules in broadcast quality. With Xpresenter Meeting Manager, the room signs are also capable of displaying real-time news and weather information.

Backed by a three-year warranty, the room signs feature LED backlight panels rated at 50,000 hours, and offer a two-piece design for simple monitor replacement without having to uninstall the mounting hardware.

Agreement Adds “projector tiling” to new PA Series projector

Scalable Display Technologies, a leading software supplier in the emerging multi-megapixel display market, is pleased to announce that NEC Display Solutions Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation of Japan, has signed an memorandum of understanding (MOU) to further expand their existing OEM license. The new MOU calls for the addition of auto-calibration of serially connected tiled projection displays plus additional license of Scalable Display’s customized version of its patented multi-projector alignment software.

The software solution provided to NEC-DS by Scalable enables up to four of the NEC-DS PA Series models NP-PA500X, NP-PA550W, NP-PA600X, NP-PA500U serially connected projectors to be stacked or tiled using an input signal of 1920 x 1200 with pixel perfect precision. The Scalable software has been added to NEC-DS’s comprehensive suite of projector management applications.

“The success of our previously announced projector stacking solution from Scalable’s leads nicely into this new tiled display offering,” said Koichi Ara, senior manager, Display Solution Business Promotion Division at NEC. “This new software solution is a cost-effective way to achieve larger sized displays with brightness in the 20,000 to 24,000 lumen range, while maintaining a short throw length and low power requirement.
