Company cites cost-effectiveness and ease-of-use as key reasons for moving to community-based platform
The digital display division of BoardView Advertising Inc. (“BoardView”) known as The Venue Channel has chosen leading community-based digital signage platform ScreenScape to replace its previous technology provider. Boardview announced today they will start by using ScreenScape to power digital displays at 20 arenas throughout Ontario. Community arenas are often among the most popular of public gathering places in Ontario – well known as a hot bed of hockey. The Venue Channel digital displays attract between 200,000 to 1 million viewers each year at each location.
“Our digital displays reach an impressive audience as these arenas are really the focal point of these communities” said Jory Sigesmund, President of BoardView Advertising Inc. “Using ScreenScape the delivery of local advertising programs is as easy and as cost-effective as blasting out a generic message that spans the entire network. Having this control is very beneficial to our advertisers and something we didn’t have with our previous system. The overall simplicity and enhanced functionality of ScreenScape made the decision to transition from our conventional digital signage solution very easy. I’m sure this system will help us to scale our network and offer our customers more reach and more value for their advertising dollar.”
The Venue Channel uses a ScreenScape Group to manage their network by coordinating advertising content from a central account and controlling which sites in their group receive specific content updates. By tapping into the social media features offered by ScreenScape, The Venue Channel is able to make each display engaging for local audiences.
“ScreenScape has recognized the power of social media and by building in customizable features for tapping into services like YouTube and Twitter we are able to configure each display to cater to the local audience. YouTube, for example, offers us a rich source of local video content that we can easily and intelligently port to our displays to create unique and dynamic programming. You really have to see it in action”, continued Sigesmund.
“We’d like to welcome BoardView to the ScreenScape Community”, said Kevin Dwyer, President and CEO of ScreenScape. “ScreenScape is a natural fit for an arena network like this and given that many retailers, distributors and national brands in the sporting goods industry are already active in the ScreenScape Community it should be interesting to see marketing opportunities germinate with the addition of this new, highly targeted audience network”.
