The Musketeers Group has launched a dedicated TV channel to enhance digital communication across Intermarché stores, utilizing the Media4Display digital signage software from French publisher Telelogos. This initiative aims to harmonize the brand’s digital communication and boost both national and local commercial offers.

Deployment and Technical Specifications: Since September 2012, the Musketeers Group’s Directorate of Communication has equipped 300 Intermarché points of sale in France with this innovative TV channel. The project includes Samsung screens, HP PC players, and Telelogos’ Media4Display software, with installation and maintenance handled by Intellicast. Screens are strategically placed at store entrances, checkout lines, and traditional product aisles.

Strategic Decisions: The Group’s Directorate of Communication made two strategic choices for this project:

  1. Content Control: They decided to manage the TV channel content internally to maintain control over their communication and avoid reliance on external advertising.
  2. Hardware and Software Selection: They conducted thorough testing and selection of all hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.

Tender Conditions and Software Features: The project tender stipulated two major requirements:

  1. Centralized Platform: A single, centralized platform to allow the Communication Group to build and operate national TV programs.
  2. Member Independence: The platform needed to provide access for store members to manage their local communication independently.

Media4Display meets these criteria by offering a web console interface with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) capabilities, allowing both the central Communication Department and individual stores to manage digital content. The software enables the dissemination of national or local content such as promotions, regional events, and weather updates.

Integration and Personalization: Media4Display also interacts with the Group’s information system applications and data sources, such as CRM, inventory management, and planning systems, ensuring real-time content updates and message personalization. The TV channel content automatically adapts to the specific characteristics of each store.

Morgan Allennou, a member of the Corporate Communications Group, stated, “Being able to hand over the management and control of digital content to our members has been instrumental in the selection of software.”
