Armagard supply a range of custom and standard enclosures for the London 2012 Olympic Experience.
The London 2012 Olympics attracted a huge number of visitors to the capital over the summer period, with many excited supporters from all over the world descending on the host city to soak up the atmosphere. However, with such a large amount of visitors expected, many organisations had to find cost effective methods of mass communication that could efficiently coordinate such large crowds.
Specialists in outdoor LCD hardware protection, Armagard were approached by several organisations before the events to help provide digital signage solutions for the large crowds expected. Supplying a number of custom and standard enclosures for different applications, Armagard enclosures could be found in three high profile locations across London, – The Mall, The Olympic Park, and the newly constructed Emirates Air-Line cable car.
The famous Mall road running from Buckingham Palace to Admiralty Arch, installed eight 42” LCD enclosures to display TV and event information during the running and cycling events.
The Olympic Park area which was completely renovated for the 2012 Games, used five enclosures for a specialised image booth which photographs visitors with the entire Olympic stadium behind them.
Finally the Emirates Air-Line required four large scale custom enclosures at 105” and 165”, which would enclose video walls for an indoor and outdoor location, and were used to enhance the traveller’s experience by providing important information, such as targeted promotions and messages.
With a background of proven hardware solutions for both small and large quantity orders, Armagard have supplied enclosures for other high profile installations such as the Euro 2012 football tournament in Poland and Ukraine, the New Delhi metro station in India, and a tube station project in Sweden.
