Pushing the capability of digital signage media appliances to a whole new level, IAdea will give a sneak peak of its new HTML5-capable digital signage media appliance XMP-3250 at the Scala Partner Conference, September 14-15.
HTML5 is the technology common to all “post-PC” information devices: the Apple iOS-powered gadgets (iPhone, iPod, iPad), Google Android devices (most smart phones and tablets), and computers running the upcoming Microsoft Windows 8 software. It is poised to dethrone Adobe Flash to provide an open architecture for dynamic web content. HTML5 provides an unprecedented open framework for delivering dynamic and smart content across devices and across vendors.
By embracing HTML5 in combination with the mature SMIL platform for digital signage, IAdea makes the simple and reliable media appliances “smart” enough to ingest live information feeds from the web and display them on a digital signage screen, coherently blending up-to-date data with traditional video and still image assets.
Furthermore, IAdea is the first in the digital signage industry to embrace the W3C Widgets standard for packaging HTML5 content across multiple files into one capsule to simplify content delivery and accounting.
IAdea starts shipping the HTML5-capable devices in Q4 2011. Contact IAdea for more details.
