BMW is a global brand renowned for its excellence and innovation in automotive performance. In the after sales and vehicle service areas of dealerships and service locations across the countries of Belgium and Luxembourg, BMW Belgium Luxembourg NV is using 85 SpinetiX HMP100 Hyper Media Players in a truly innovative dedicated digital signage system.
As a completely flexible system, the digital signage is integrated with audio and video. Customers are alerted to the completion of a service or purchase by a BMW gong sound. BMW customers can also watch the screens as they show numerous aftersales and sales entertainment, as well as inspirational content including advertising material and campaigns, said the Lausanne, Switzerland-based company.
All content for the screens is produced by the BMW Belgium Luxembourg marketing departments and its ad agencies, and is deployed to all dealerships using the SpinetiX Hyper Media Player from a single location. The system was designed in conjunction with BMW Group Belux and Belgium-based specialist integrators, PLAY AV, Nazareth, Belgium. The SpinetiX Hyper Media Players were supplied by specialist partner, Sanel, in early 2011.
“We’ve found digital signage to be very effective with our communications and it replaces the requirement and use of printed posters and banners,” said Bart Cornu, after sales marketing manager at BMW Belgium Luxembourg NV. “We had looked at what BMW Sweden did with their digital signage system and started to look at options which would work for our own region. Sanel introduced us to SpinetiX and, in truth, we were convinced about its potential. After a rigorous testing exercise, we decided to deploy them in a system across Belgium and Luxembourg.”
The BMW Group in Luxembourg and Belgium is an importer and distributor of the BMW and MINI brands as well as motorcycles. The group also is responsible for import and sales of BMW and MINI spare parts and accessories. The Group has approximately 150 employees and 80 workshops.
