Pharmacy Health Network Expands to 500 Locations, Reaches Millions with Healthcare Content

Cardinal Health has successfully installed its Pharmacy Health Network™ in 500 retail pharmacy locations across the United States, just one year after the network’s launch in August. The company has secured agreements with over 650 retail pharmacies, demonstrating strong momentum and widespread interest in the innovative service.

The Pharmacy Health Network is a cutting-edge platform that streams advertisements and educational content on flat-panel LCD screens within retail pharmacies. This network targets consumers while they wait for their prescriptions, providing a unique opportunity for advertisers to reach millions of potential customers in a healthcare-focused environment. Notable advertisers like Bayer HealthCare Diabetes Care, Upsher-Smith, Novartis Consumer Health, and Salix Pharmaceuticals have already joined the network, leveraging its wide reach to promote their products.

Jeff Foreman, Vice President of Strategic Purchasing for Cardinal Health, expressed enthusiasm about the positive response the network has received. “We’re thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response the Pharmacy Health Network has received from both advertisers and retail pharmacy customers, and we look forward to continuing to rapidly expand the number of stores and advertisers that participate in the program,” Foreman stated. He also noted that products advertised on the network have seen sales increases of 15-37% in participating pharmacies.

The network’s content is diverse, featuring professionally produced health and wellness segments from the NBC Digital Health Network, weather updates from AccuWeather.com®, and educational materials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other government health agencies. Additionally, pharmacies can promote in-store specials, health screenings, and local community events, making the network a valuable tool for customer engagement.

Cardinal Health is actively promoting the Pharmacy Health Network to the over 5,000 independent and franchised pharmacies it serves nationwide, along with its retail pharmacy chain customers. Retailers like Discount Drug Mart have praised the network for its ability to deliver timely, health-related information to customers and its ease of use. Tom Nameth, Director of Pharmacy Operations for Discount Drug Mart, highlighted the network’s user-friendly design, which allows for easy customization of content to promote store-specific programs and specials.

The Pharmacy Health Network is managed by Respario Digital Advertising Group of Dallas, Texas, which oversees the technology, content, and ongoing management of the program. This partnership ensures that the installation process is seamless and convenient for participating retailers. Ron Johnson, owner of two Lloyd’s Pharmacy stores in Minnesota, commended the network for its educational content and the ease of installation, noting that it enhances the overall professionalism of his stores.

Participating pharmacies receive comprehensive support, including the installation and maintenance of flat-panel LCD screens and targeted audio systems. They also receive custom brochure racks to provide customers with easy access to health-related materials, including brochures, coupons, and other promotional content.

Pharmacies interested in joining the Pharmacy Health Network or companies looking to advertise on the network can visit www.phntv.com or call 800-210-4025 for more information.
