Hamburg-based start-up AERQ, a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and LG Electronics, has announced it will discontinue its business operations. The decision comes after five years of developing its digital cabin platform, AERENA, a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for commercial airlines.

Since its founding in 2019, AERQ has focused on creating innovative digital cabin solutions. AERENA, its flagship product, was designed to enhance the passenger experience with advanced features, and it recently completed an operational demonstration on an Airbus A320.
