USAV Group Integrator member, Jay Myers President and CEO of Interactive Solutions, Inc. (ISI), was awarded The 2010 Ethan Award(tm) for the success of his book, Keep SwinginG: An Entrepreneur’s Story of Overcoming Adversity & Achieving Small Business Success. Winners were announced during a gala awards banquet held on October 28 in Las Vegas.
The Ethan Awards(tm) were created to honor and generate public recognition of the efforts, accomplishments, and positive contributions of entrepreneurial authors worldwide. The Ethan Awards(tm) mission is to raise the profile of exemplary authors among the press, the community, and the general public.
Myers wrote Keep Swinging, which was published in October 2007, to inspire others to overcome obstacles in their lives. In the book he details what led him to start his own company after nearly 20 years of success working in sales for corporate giants like Eastman Kodak and Hewlett-Packard, how he was able to sow the seeds of his business while the technological aspects of their operations were still developing during the mid-90’s, and how he was able to keep ISI from falling apart at the seams following an embezzlement crisis just a few short years ago.
“Jay is a valuable of member of the USAV Group team. We are very proud of his recognition as recipient of the prestigious Ethan Award(tm),” said USAV Group CEO K.C. Schwarz. “Keep Swinging is an encouraging book and a must read for business owners.”
“Winning the 2010 Ethan Award(tm) is the biggest thrill of my professional career,” said Myers. “I am humbled by the overwhelming response from readers of Keep Swinging and am gratified that the book has provided hope and inspiration in these difficult times. I am delighted to accept the award and am very appreciative to the USAV Group team for their great support.”
Myers will continue to use Keep Swinging to help encourage and inspire other small business owners across the United States. He regularly speaks on issues that concern small business owners when faced with obstacles that arise whether it be partnership buyouts or employee theft/embezzlement. He has gained a nationwide reputation in this area working with the Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) and the United States Secret Service (USSS). His story was recently featured in a Wall Street Journal supplement, “When You’re Most Vulnerable to Fraud”.
