ScreenScape today announced the availability of its first-of-its-kind, community-based digital signage network in the United States. After a successful launch in Canada, ScreenScape can now be used by U.S. business owners to market directly to customers on-site and collaborate with other members of their business community. ScreenScape is the only digital display network that is based on open, Internet technology and delivered as a software-as-a-service (SaaS), fostering member collaboration and community networking in a way that previously was unheard of in the digital signage industry.
With ScreenScape, any Internet-connected screen can quickly be turned into a dynamic digital display. Members sign up for an account online, then upload their own digital content or create new content including text, images, video, slides and RSS feeds, in a matter of minutes, within the ScreenScape platform.
The ScreenScape member community is comprised of businesses that operate physical locations. These venues can use Screenscape to display their own content. ScreenScape’s capabilities also enable venues to share content, and, additionally, monetize that relationship. Basic accounts are $9.99 per month, with group accounts, for multiple venues, ranging from $30- 60 per venue, per month.
Digital signage has recently developed into a fast growing and increasingly important channel for marketers. According to ABI Research, the market for digital signage in the United States alone will more than double from $641 million in 2008 to $1.4 billion in 2013. ScreenScape is poised to meet this demand with its unique community-based approach to digital signage, one that stands in sharp contrast to the traditionally closed, proprietary digital signage networks.
ScreenScape arrives in the U.S. market having established itself as a successful business in Canada, with more than 800 customers ranging from large businesses, like OilStop, an automotive retailer, to smaller businesses, such as Pub Concepts. Pub Concepts is a food and beverage franchise that provides entrepreneurs the opportunity to own and operate their own unique British-style pub. In less than one year, Pub Concepts has gone from deploying ScreenScape across a handful of its franchises to its entire pub network.
“Pub Concepts is founded on the notion of collaboration. All our franchisees should be able to share best practices with one another, extending to in-store promotions that see the best results. ScreenScape allows us to communicate information to our other pub owners without hassle,” said Doug Ranch, spokesperson for Pub Concepts.
Ranch continued, “Pub Concepts has also been able to act as an affiliate network manager and push content to members from advertisers, which leads to additional revenue streams for our business.”
“ScreenScape is turning the traditional digital signage industry on its head,” said Kevin Dwyer, president and chief executive officer of ScreenScape. “By offering a SaaS-based digital display network at a low cost of entry, we have built a vibrant community of business owners who can now take advantage of the true promise of digital signage for the first time.”
