Planar architectural and design campaign co-branded with DesignerPages.com hosts interactive digital content at design
Today, in New York, Planar Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLNR), a worldwide leader in specialty display solutions, announced their custom Clarity Matrix(TM) video wall has been selected as title exhibit partner at the upcoming NeoCon trade show in Chicago, taking place June 13-June 15, 2011 at The Merchandise Mart.
DesignerPages.com, the official digital partner of NeoCon since 2009, and MMPI, the company that owns and produces NeoCon each year, have creatively partnered with Planar to display real-time conversation about NeoCon on displays installed throughout the expo floors. Attending bloggers and trade professionals will be empowered to capture and share activities and events happening at the show via Twitter under the hashtag #NeoCon11.
“We launched this hashtag program with #NeoCon09 as a guerilla marketing tactic; we weren’t sure what to expect,” comments DesignerPages.com CEO Jacob Slevin. “Thankfully results were extraordinary, with more original commentary and imagery published about NeoCon than ever before. #NeoCon10 was bigger and better, and we know #NeoCon11, with the help of Planar, will far exceed all expectations.”
All #NeoCon11 Tweets will be displayed on Planar’s Clarity Matrix 3×2 media wall in the north lobby, and other Planar exhibits within The Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
In April 2011, Planar announced a new initiative to serve the specification needs of the Architecture and Design (A&D) industry, with its growing lineup of high-performance, easy-to-service displays for digital video wall applications, including the Clarity Matrix LCD video wall system. The initiative includes innovative exhibitions and communications to the A&D community, as well as new online tools, customized website at PlanarDigitalSignage.com, and creative partnerships, such as the campaign at NeoCon with DesignerPages.com. Most recently Planar’s 3×3 media wall was selected by renowned architect Juergen Mayer H. to display his creative work as part of a larger traveling exhibit, Berlin Happens, in partnership with Relative Space showrooms in New York City and Toronto.
“In the architecture and design industry, media display walls are becoming the emerging trend for architectural specifiers,” remarks Jennifer Davis, VP of Marketing for Planar. “Planar’s Clarity Matrix media wall has already been adapted by major global architects and designers in markets that include retail, hospitality, museum, academia, healthcare and increasingly in commercial mixed-use developments across the country. Our partnership with DesignerPages.com and MMPI for NeoCon11 illustrates our commitment to the architecture and design community.”
Planar’s Clarity Matrix was the ideal choice for this innovative display. The product’s thin-profile mounting system (less than 3.6″) delivers the world’s only ADA-compliant LCD video wall and the image-to-image gap (which is as small as 5.7mm) delivers alluring imagery and a literal digital canvas for the design community.
