Magenta Research, the recognised leader in AV signal distribution and switching, will exhibit its renowned MultiView family alongside its award-winning Voyager Fibre Optic Signal Distribution Platform and its HD-One Series products on Stand E19 at Screenmedia expo 2011, 18-19 May, London’s Earls Court 2.
MultiView DVI:
Magenta will demonstrate the latest addition to its MultiView family, known for best-in-class replication when it comes to the commercial-grade distribution, extension and switching of AV signals over UTP cable, now has a brand new entry. MultiView DVI delivers 1920×1200 resolution single link DVI-D video 1,200 feet (366 metres) over standard UTP cable. MultiView DVI receivers are daisy-chainable and capable of outputting DVI or RGBHV video within the same switch environment, giving system integrators more flexibility than ever before. Serial and/or audio can also be delivered alongside video.
Most importantly, MultiView DVI is fully compatible with Magenta’s Mondo Matrix III scalable UTP switch, which means that all new Mondo Matrix installations, as well as those already in the field, now support both digital and analogue video signals—within the same switch—in configurations ranging from 16×16 to 256×512.
Voyager Series:
Alongside MultiView DVI Magenta will show its Voyager Series of interoperable transmitters, receivers, distribution amplifiers and matrix switchers. Voyager uses a modular building block approach to enable any end to end configuration for extension and switching of uncompressed multi-format video and audio, RS-232, IR and USB signals over fibre at distances up to 16.75MI/30KM.
While the core FiberMAX engine enables the Voyager platform to define a new price-performance curve for AV distribution over fibre, the new product range also delivers an unprecedented number of unique features with real life benefits. Magenta’s innovative Flex-VCA architecture allows each Voyager transmitter and receiver to support a wide variety of analogue and digital video formats through plug and play field interchangeable modules. The ability to easily field configure, upgrade and interchange signal types including video formats greatly increases flexibility in specification, procurement, installation and troubleshooting. With built in auto format conversion and delay free HDCP switching, sources and displays of all supported video types including HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort and VGA can be interconnected on the same network without the need for external converters, thereby reducing both cost and the number of potential failure points.
For Installations with displays requiring mixed resolutions, the Voyager series utilises Magenta’s unique ScaleMAX technology to prevent low quality up-scaling on high resolution displays. By configuring each source to the highest resolution and then using broadcast quality downscaling for lower resolution displays, ScaleMAX technology ensures optimal content resolution on each and every display.
HD-One Series:
Also on the stand will be Magenta’s HD-One Series. Designed for high-quality single-UTP HDMI video and embedded audio extension, HD-One DX delivers full 1080p uncompressed video to distances of 328 feet (100m). The product supports HDM 1.3, is fully HDCP compliant and will function flawlessly with Cat5e/6/6e/7 cable types.
HD-One LX is an HDMI extension product that utilises a single Cat5e/6/6e/7 cable, and sends 1080p video 328ft/100m. HD-One LX is fully HDCP-compliant and capable of extending uncompressed 1080p video, audio, IR and bi-directional RS-232 to 328ft/100m, allowing commands and data to flow in both directions.
The distance reach and use of inexpensive, easy to terminate UTP cable make Magenta’s HD-One Series products an obvious choice for HDMI extension, whether it’s a Blu-Ray player, cable/set-top box or a PC with an HDMI/DVI output. The distances achieved by HD-One products are virtually impossible to replicate using specially constructed HDMI cables, which, even at short distances, deteriorate image quality, are extremely difficult to terminate in the field and carry a high cost factor.
