Network Allies Expands Custom Design and System Integration Capabilities with Acquisition of Sherlock Systems, a Leader in Digital Signage Solutions

2 min read

Network Allies, a leading provider of application-specific computing solutions, announced that it acquired Sherlock Systems, a custom computer design and contract manufacturing company based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois on April 1, 2012. The acquisition of Sherlock Systems strengthens Network Allies’ core capabilities by adding manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and procurement resources.

Established in 1985, Sherlock Systems focuses on helping customers with the development of custom-built systems for specialized software applications and PC-based control devices. As an Intel Platinum Technology Provider, Sherlock incorporates innovative designs, state-of-the-art technologies, scheduled production, and unmatched customer service to provide customers with ideal end-user solutions.

“Sherlock Systems not only establishes an important physical presence for us in the Midwest but also positions us as a leader in the exploding digital signage market,” said Jim Reinhold, CEO of Network Allies. Digital signage is the fastest growing line of business for Sherlock Systems. Digital signage solutions are being deployed in a wide variety of settings, including automobile dealerships, retail outlets, healthcare facilities, and corporate headquarters. Businesses are just beginning to replace existing static communication devices such as posters and billboards with dynamic digital signage, as well as creating real-time interactions with important audiences.

“As part of Network Allies, Sherlock Systems expands its sales, technical, infrastructure, and financial resources allowing us to serve a growing customer base and complete larger and more complex projects,” said Dave Sallander, President of Sherlock Systems. The combined companies will have a greater capability to provide application-specific computing solutions, including systems integration, design and engineering, and logistics and support services so that Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) can focus on their core competencies and lower their total cost of ownership. As a “virtual division”, both companies engage with its customers over entire product lifecycles.
