The Exploration Place Museum + Science Centre in Prince George, British Columbia, has launched an innovative new exhibit called “Biome,” designed to captivate and educate visitors of all ages. Before entering the Biome, guests are greeted by a state-of-the-art interactive floor, powered by EyeStep technology, which responds dynamically to their every step, creating an immersive and magical experience.
The interactive floor features a variety of stunning visuals that react to guest movements. For instance, one scene transforms the floor into a desert, where the sand “blows away” with each step to reveal hidden dinosaur bones beneath. Another scene involves lifelike “bugs” that scurry toward visitors’ feet as they walk across the display, adding an element of surprise and engagement.
Tracy Calogheros, CEO of The Exploration Place, highlighted the interactive floor’s ability to mesmerize visitors. “The interactive floor stops guests in their tracks. They are totally amazed when they realize their gestures trigger the action on the floor. In fact, we have to encourage our guests to keep walking towards the Biome space,” Calogheros said.
