Emirates takes long-term holding on new outdoor site at Glasgow Airport2 min read
Emirates Airline is the launch advertiser on a new, high-profile poster site at Glasgow Airport with a 3-year booking. The site is the start of a refurbishment programme of advertising locations at Glasgow Airport, and is found above the check-in desks.
The campaign was booked with JCDecaux Airport through Starcom MediaVest and Kinetic.
The Glasgow check-in domination opportunity comprises two 14 metres x 3 metres backlit poster sites that reach 100% of departing passengers, and will be seen by 7.2 million airport passengers every year. The site will launch with creative promoting Emirates’ daily flight from Glasgow to Dubai and Australia.
This is the second long-term holding by Emirates on a key JCDecaux Airport site. Since 2008, a model Emirates A380 plane has taken centre-stage on the famous roundabout site at Heathrow Airport.
“We already enjoy a strong presence at Glasgow Airport, having served Scotland with a daily flight to Dubai for the past seven years. This advertising investment further cements our commitment to our Glasgow route and gives us the opportunity to showcase key destinations on our global network to Scottish travellers,” said
Laurie Berryman, Emirates’ Vice President UK & Ireland.
Jacqueline McCormick, Commercial Director of JCDecaux Airport said: “The Glasgow check-in domination is a flagship advertising site. We are delighted that Emirates has made this long-term commitment to this important new opportunity in Glasgow. Glasgow Airport is the ideal environment for brands wanting to reach upmarket audiences, especially following the airport’s current investment in exciting new retail opportunities and the Food Court, and JCDecaux Airport’s refurbishment roll out.”
Glasgow Airport offers flights to 85 destinations, serving a young, affluent audience with the majority (76%) in the ABC1 demographic. In January 2011, Glasgow Airport announced its £11.2 million investment to provide an improved experience for passengers.
