New Extra Long Range (ELR) KVM Extender from Gefen Delivers WUXGA Resolutions with USB Peripherals using Just One CAT-5 Cable up to 100 Meters
Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen today announced that its DVI KVM ELR Extender (EXT-DVIKVM-ELR) is now shipping. Based on HDBaseT technology, Gefen’s ELR technology enables high resolution video in the DVI format to travel greater distances than ever before using a single CAT-5 cable.
With its ability to carry three USB 2.0 signals on the same CAT-5 cable alongside the DVI, the Gefen DVI KVM ELR Extender significantly reduces the amount of cables needed while increasing the length of extension to 330 feet (100m). At this distance, high resolution video is supported at resolutions up to 1920×1200 with a perfect signal delivery and zero signal drop-outs. USB data is sent at rates reaching up to 100 Mbps for a reliable, instantaneous delivery.
Installation is plug and play simple, requiring the connection of the computer to the sender unit. The receiver offers three USB outputs for keyboard/mouse, camera, hard drive, printer or scanner, and a display. One industry standard CAT-5 cable connects the sender to the receiver unit.
The DVI KVM ELR Extender comes with locking power supplies to prevent potential disconnects, is rack mountable and supports cross-platform computers.
