The highly anticipated final installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, premieres tonight in London. Fans are expected to flock to Trafalgar Square to catch a glimpse of the stars walking the red carpet, marking the end of an era for one of the most beloved film franchises.
For those unable to attend in person, London commuters will still be able to experience the excitement. The event will be streamed live to Transvision digital billboards at major train stations across the city, giving fans a unique opportunity to witness the premiere as it unfolds.
This premiere marks a significant moment for digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising in the UK, as it is the first time a film premiere will be streamed live to digital billboards. The campaign, created by Grand Visual in collaboration with media, outdoor, and creative agencies, will display live footage from the red carpet along with real-time ticker commentary on the proceedings.
The live streaming will be powered by Grand Visual’s OpenLoop platform, which allows advertisers to manage live content across multiple DOOH networks. The event will be broadcast across 10 JCDecaux Transvision screens located in major London train stations on July 7, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Dan Dawson, Digital Director at Grand Visual, emphasized the power of digital OOH technology in delivering dynamic experiences: “Digital OOH technology and infrastructure now allows advertisers to run live and dynamic executions that can capture events as they happen and deliver an exciting and rewarding viewing experience.”
The station domination will include screens at some of London’s busiest transport hubs, including Charing Cross, St Pancras, Victoria, and Kings Cross, ensuring that thousands of commuters can tune in to the live event as they make their way through the city.
Grand Visual, a leading digital production company, specializes in creating cutting-edge campaigns for DOOH platforms. Since its launch in 2005, the company has pushed the boundaries of digital media, delivering award-winning and innovative “media firsts” in the out-of-home sector.
Grand Visual’s OpenLoop platform plays a central role in this event, providing the flexibility needed for real-time advertising. OpenLoop enables advertisers to modify and update DOOH campaigns instantly across multiple networks, ensuring dynamic, responsive content that can engage audiences in real time.

About Dise
Klocktornet founders and developers have a long experience in digital signage, working with the same concepts since 1989 when they helped to pioneer the business. Back then it was all about TV based installations, videotex and low resolution graphics. Now Plasma and LCD screens have become widely available and the entry cost for a digital signage system has become more attractive to more companies. In addition the demands on the software platform have increased. However the basic concept is still the same, to present your content to your viewers with high quality, dynamic playback, control and reliability. http://www.displayevolution.com/
