Net Display Systems’ PADS4 Digital Signage Software Update
To increase productivity and reduce the learning curve for using Net Display Systems’ (NDS) next-generation PADS4, the digital signage software’s applications have been restyled to the latest Microsoft® Office type user interface. Predefined configurations and an automatic server detection feature simplify installation, while a new “engine” powers PADS4 behind the scenes. A built-in update checker makes installing new versions of the software effortless, while new native data providers allow for even more real-time external sources.
PADS Designer is enriched with new items like a ruler and elements and playlist windows. The software includes a new Content Library system, which is synchronized across the entire PADS installation automatically, while the PADS Scheduler application — formerly known as PADS Manager — has received a completely new calendar view. The performance of PADS Viewer is improved to play out presentations more smoothly, and is available in different variants as a replacement for former products like PADSXPRESS.
Just Add Power HD/IP Transmitters/Receivers
Just Add Power’s HD/IP technology allows an HDMI® signal to be sent to one or more HDMI displays simultaneously over a single CatX cable Ethernet infrastructure, allowing digital content to be distributed from multiple sources to any number of remote displays on a LAN. Sources can be rack centralized, decentralized, or even a mixture of both. Cascading multiple Ethernet switches allows displays to be located far away from the source devices, while sustaining consistent 1080p video and sound quality.
Ideal for digital signage and other commercial applications, Just Add Power’s cost-effective, first-generation (1G) HD/IP transmitters/receivers use JPEG compression to fit the signal onto a 100BT network, with minimal impact on the image quality. Second-generation (2G) HD/IP transmitters/receivers use a patented process to send visually lossless 1080p video — identical to a direct HDMI cable connection — across a 1000BT network. In addition, 2G models are bolstered with 2-way RS-232 communication capabilities for powerful system control of individual source and display functions.
Luxiâ„¢ Electronics’ Presenterâ„¢
Luxiâ„¢ Electronics’ patent-pending Presenterâ„¢ transmitters and receivers for HDMI®, DisplayPort, and VGA/audio signals utilize a simple approach instead of centralized switching and distribution. This solution is the alternative to traditional switching and splitting, where three SKUs can replace thousands thus simplifying installations dramatically. Presenter systems are formed by daisy-chaining multiple transmitter and receiver boxes. One transmitter and receiver pair can replace traditional interfaces, switchers, splitters, and matrix switchers of any size.
The LUX-TPR110CR transmitter and LUX-RPR110CR receiver are capable of transmitting HDMI, RS-232 signals, and remote power. The LUX-TPR150CR transmitter and LUX-RPR150CR receiver come equipped with a built-in scaler for mixed signal formats and resolutions, and can transmit VGA/audio, HDMI, and DisplayPort signals. Adjacent transmitter and receiver boxes can be located up to 85 feet apart and are connected with a single Cat6 cable, eliminating heavy cable clusters and simplifying system design and installation greatly. The compact units can be mounted easily — under tables, above projectors, and in racks.
Every transmitter features a “Show Me” control button, and additional control devices can be inserted anywhere in the daisy-chain via RS-232. One controller connected to one Presenter box can control all Luxi Presenter units in the chain, in addition to all other devices connected to Luxi Presenters via RS-232. Every Presenter box features an Ethernet connection for convenient systemwide Internet access, and a sophisticated yet easy-to-use automatic system mapping and control software.
DVI Plus Audio Cable Assembly
At InfoComm 2012, BTX will showcase the industry’s first cable assembly to combine DVI and audio into one, simplifying installations to save time and money in the field. The DVI plus audio cable assembly features a DVI-D male-to-male assembly with an integrated audio cable terminated with 3.5mm stereo connectors. One end of the audio cable offers additional length to enable easy connection of audio outputs on a computer or other devices. Perfect for post-production, broadcast facilities, and studios, the assembly not only reduces installation time and costs, but also improves overall cable management. The cable assembly is available in various lengths from 3 to 50 feet to accommodate any application.
BTX Pro Plates and Panels
BTX Pro Plates and Panels are available as standard anodized aluminum wall plates and panels, laminated aluminum color wall plates, formed anodized aluminum plates, and anti-bowing flanged heavy-duty panels. Offering complete customization and complementing any décor, BTX’s color wall plates are available in white, black, red, green, blue, and yellow, and in up to six-gang configurations. The stylish plates feature a unique two-layer laminate over the aluminum that can be engraved to create a clean and eye-popping look in any commercial environment.
The formed anodized aluminum wall plates are flush with the wall only at the edge of the bezel, making them ideal solutions for uneven surfaces. Available in single and double-gang configurations, the plates are thicker and more durable than other solutions on the market, and feature an elegant brushed finish in clear or black for a sophisticated look.
The company has bolstered its rack panel offering with flanged heavy-duty anodized aluminum panels. Even when punched with the maximum number of cutouts, the new black, one-eighth inch thick, one-piece bent flanged panels have the extra strength needed to eliminate bowing when attaching or removing cables. The heavy-duty panels are available in sizes up to 10-RU, as well as a 12-RU size.
