Ynvisible Interactive Inc., a leader in printed e-paper display technology, has achieved a significant milestone by completing the mass production and delivery of 25,000 large-format digital signs to Fortech S.r.l., Italy’s top provider of custom solutions for the fuel retail industry.
The digital signs, which are part of Fortech’s PriceLink initiative, display daily average fuel prices at various service stations across Italy. Fortech required a display solution that was both efficient and effective, prioritizing features like battery operation for wireless ease, lightweight design for simple installation, and durability for outdoor use. Additionally, the displays needed to be clearly visible even in direct sunlight.
Roberto Dellavalle, Business Development Manager at Fortech, shared insights into their selection process, stating, “Alternative technologies such as electrophoretic e-paper and reflective LCDs were either too expensive or did not perform well in sunlight. LED solutions, although popular, were not feasible due to their high power consumption.”
Ynvisible’s printed e-paper displays met all of Fortech’s requirements, playing a crucial role in the product’s success. These displays are designed to be energy-efficient, with ultra-low power consumption that allows for extended operation on small batteries. Their slim and portable design also ensures easy installation.
Dirk Becker, Ynvisible’s Sales Manager for Europe, highlighted the project’s swift progression from concept to delivery. “We managed to develop a tailored signage solution for Fortech that moved from initial design to roll-to-roll mass production and delivery in just a few months,” he explained. “This project is a clear testament to our ability to deliver specialized solutions efficiently.”
This successful delivery marks Ynvisible’s expansion within the digital signage market, particularly in applications that require excellent visibility in sunlight. The company is poised to tap into a potential European market for fuel price digital signage that could reach up to €25 million. Beyond this niche, Ynvisible aims to broaden its scope to include signage for public transportation, urban information systems, and electric vehicle charging stations.
