Futuristic Swiss innovation at ISE 2011: GateMedia integrates with SpinetiX2 min read
Residential installations of over 2,700 screens connected via VPN over 3G networks
On the eve of Integrated Systems Europe 2011 exhibition, two Swiss digital signage companies, SpinetiX and GateMedia announce that their combined technologies will be used in innovative residential property management digital signage system comprising 2,700 digital screens across Switzerland.
The ScreenGate CMS solution from GateMedia is a digital signage distribution system of the future. ScreenGate is particularly well adapted to display widescreen information in residential buildings. On-location information can be configured and managed over a wireless 3G network via VPN and broadcast from the SpinetiX Hyper Media Player.
The solution comprises multiple flexible zones. A first zone is reserved for the property management company, enabling it to communicate in real-time with residents and provide them with information such as elevator outages, plumber services etc. Messages are introduced in the system in a very simple manner through the internet by operators with proper access rights. No particular computer competences are necessary and the property management company can grant, cancel or modify access rights to its personnel at any time. A second zone can be used by advertisers who can reach an entire city or only specific areas.
The display of the screen content is in wide screen format, enabling a concise way of viewing information. The screens can also be set up and managed according to user or operator preferences, all over a 3G network.
Serge Pittet, CEO at Switzerland based, Gate Media explains, “Different groups of stakeholders and different users can access information on different locations on the screen without having rights on content to set up and configure the screen. It’s like a web application so is easy to understand and configure. This has unique functionality and benefits for the property management market and will also appeal to hospitality and transport sectors.”
Excited about the innovation that the two companies bring to ISE 2011, Serge Konter, Marketing Director at SpinetiX adds, “The integration is achievable by using our extremely robust Hyper Media Player that uses flexible and open technology such as SVG. It opens up the potential for new and exciting dynamic display and it’s the best demonstration of our Hyper Media Players in use over a 3G network that we’ve seen to date. We’re delighted to be showing our customers it’s potential and powerful feature set at ISE 2011.”
The combination will be shown on the SpinetiX stand at ISE 2011 on stand 12.B88.
