The Runnymede Hotel has implemented ONELAN digital signage to improve its ability to communicate effectively with approximately 200 guests who pass through the hotel daily. This system not only modernizes the hotel’s image but also helps reduce the costs and delays associated with printing brochures and flyers.
Project Objectives
The Runnymede Hotel sought a digital signage solution that would:
- Present a contemporary, “up-to-the-minute” feel to guests.
- Replace the need for printed brochures and flyers, reducing both cost and waste.
- Allow for instant updates, in contrast to time-consuming brochure reprints.
The hotel selected ONELAN for its user-friendly interface and Ad Hoc capability, which allows staff to easily input messages, announcements, visual paging, and update the display layouts.
How the Digital Signage is Being Used
The Runnymede Hotel installed 25 ONELAN Net-Top-Boxes across the property. The digital signage system is deployed in key areas to enhance guest experience:
- Reception Areas: Large 50-inch screens in the reception areas show live TV alongside advertisements for hotel services, such as last-minute beauty salon availability. These displays are updated regularly, with plans to integrate videos showcasing hotel events and offerings.
- Event Displays: A 63-inch screen is dedicated to special events, such as weddings. During wedding receptions, this screen can display real-time photos of the event, creating an interactive experience for guests.
- Meeting Rooms: Outside each meeting room, 10-inch screens display company information and videos tailored to each client. These screens are updated instantly for each new event, providing a personalized experience.
Additionally, the digital signage network includes an RSS ticker feed that delivers up-to-date travel information and conditions around Heathrow Airport and major roadways, ensuring guests are well informed.
