In another major statement celebrating the 50th anniversary of the world’s number 1 fashion doll, Urban Digital – the third space™ (formerly WindowGain UK) have today installed a revolutionary 95 Sq Ft (8.8sqm) rear projection screen displaying Barbie’s image in the window of Hamleys toy shop, Regent Street.
The digital signage solutions provider, currently providing the Double Decker screens in London’s Oxford Street, were chosen by Mattel’s brand and design agency Oakwood-dc to install and manage the content delivery of the campaign running until the end of March 2009.
Filling most of the shop window and the first of its kind in the UK, the screen will break from a birthday celebration countdown into a 15 minute video at 12pm on Sunday 8th March. The longest video ever run publicly on this type of screen solution, it’s set to wow shoppers with images of the 5 fabulous decades of Barbie’s unapologetic glam, just as her birthday party celebrations begin in store.
Simon Russell, Urban Digital Managing Director, comments, “2009 has commenced with great impetus for our business and we believe this to be true for all exceptional digital signage providers. We are delighted to be associated with such an iconic brand as Barbie and being able to assist our client in reaching their target audience in the increasingly highly sought after third space. We worked in partnership with a specialist installation company and being able to provide a total content delivery solution is opening up opportunities for further exciting high profile installations.”
