Museum visitor tracking improved with interactive digital signage solution from Canvys and Green Guestbook Inc.
Canvys, a global value-added integrator and manufacturer that specializes in creating comprehensive visual technology solutions, announced today that its customer Green Guestbook Inc. was recently recognized for offering “The Most Promising Material of the Future,” by the Center for the Future Museums. This accolade showcases how interactive digital signage quickly enables an organization to capture the consumer data needed to advance its programs.
“Green Guestbook’s creative use of the Canvys touch-screen product serves the broader purpose of acquiring data needed to track museum attendance patterns,” says Beth Hild, Canvys global marketing manager. “Interactive technology, such as touch, enables organizations to make the immediate connections which enable consumer mapping.”
Green Guestbook is a Web-based visitor registration system. It’s used to collect email addresses, compile demographics and conduct customized surveys. Organizations can rate their best marketing resources, such as newspapers, radio or word-of-mouth – and even map a visitor’s itinerary to and from their venue. Data, including attendee demographics, can be automatically codified and shared with partner organizations such as event planners or a chamber of commerce.
“The main focus is to move away from paper correspondence and optimize the use of dynamic and integrated Web-based communications,” says Ellie Carlson, president and inventor of Green Guestbook. “This system also serves as a virtual tour guide, linking consumers to other area destinations.”
“We chose Canvys’ commercial-grade 19” all-in-one touch screen as the product came with strong referrals,” Carlson adds. “Its proven durability is key as the product will be located in a public venue.”
Green Guestbook subscribers purchase the software license and the screen as a package.
The Center for the Future of Museums is an initiative of the American Association of Museums (AAM). At AAM’s recent annual meeting and the MuseumExpo 09 in Philadelphia, attendees voted on the product or service that would have the greatest impact on the museum community, if broadly adapted, in the next 10 to 20 years. The initial contest was a three-way tie. Last week Green Guestbook won the final vote in an online poll.
Green Guestbook is U.S. patent pending. Contact www.greenguestbook.com or 312.771.2400 for more information.
