Xibo, a global provider of digital signage solutions, has released version 4.1.0 of its Content Management System (CMS), codenamed “Giacobini.” This latest version introduces several new features and improvements designed to enhance the user experience for signage managers and content creators.
A key upgrade in version 4.1.0 is the addition of enhanced interactive signage capabilities. With this feature, displays can now respond dynamically to real-time local data such as weather conditions or sensor inputs. This interactive functionality allows businesses to create more personalized, context-aware digital displays, providing a better experience for viewers.
Improvements have also been made to the layout editing tools. The layout editor has been redesigned for easier use, including an improved preview function that offers a more accurate view of how content will appear once displayed. Updates to DataSet functionality also provide more flexibility, enabling users to manage dynamic content more efficiently.
Additionally, version 4.1.0 includes support for PHP 8.1, bringing enhanced performance, security, and access to modern development tools. Xibo encourages users to update both their CMS and player software to fully benefit from the improved functionality and security features of this version.
Security has been strengthened with the introduction of a strict Content Security Policy (CSP). This policy limits the sources from which content can be loaded, reducing the risk of vulnerabilities and protecting against potential malicious content.
Xibo version 4.1.0 is available for download on GitHub, with instructions provided for installation and updates. Xibo Cloud-hosted customers will receive the update automatically unless they opt out, while self-hosted users are encouraged to upgrade to take advantage of the new features and security enhancements.
