Broadcast International (BI), a leading provider of video-powered broadcast solutions, elected telecom executive, Donald A. Harris, to its board of directors effective June 11, 2012. His appointment will increase the total number of company directors to six, with four serving independently.
Harris brings to the company more than 20 years of experience in the IT services and telecommunications industries. He is currently president of 1162 Management, a private equity firm. He previously served as chairman, CEO and president of UbiquiTel, a leading provider of digital wireless personal communications services and NASDAQ-listed company before it was acquired for $1.3 billion by Sprint Nextel Corp. in 2006. He was also past president of Comcast Cellular Communications, following various senior management positions with Comcast Corp. and PacTel.

Harris also presently serves on the board of nFinanSe, a leading provider of stored value and general purpose reloadable cards. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company after graduating from The United States Military Academy at West Point and earning his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.
