Daktronics, Inc, of Brookings, S.D., announced today that Bucknell University of Lewisburg, Pa., has once again partnered with Daktronics to design and install a new light emitting diode (LED) video display in the Kinney Natatorium.
The integrated video display will measure over 9 feet high by more than 16 feet wide. It will be able to produce detailed images with smooth motion reproduction. It will feature Daktronics 10 millimeter LED line spacing which provides exceptional wide angle viewing with high resolution, giving spectators a great view of live video, replays and results, no matter where they are in the facility. This video display will replace the existing matrix board which was only able to produce messages of lane and lap numbers, swimmer information and time elapsed.
“We look forward to using the Daktronics scoreboard, which will enhance our overall event atmosphere for all aquatics events in Kinney Natatorium,” Bucknell Assistant Director of Athletics and Aquatics Director Pam Armold said.
Included in the installation of the video board will be Daktronics Show Control system. Show Control is a state-of-the-art display control system with video processing capable of scaling live and recorded video signal into vivid, crystal-clear digital imagery on the display board simultaneously as it happens.
Daktronics is not new to Bucknell University. This installation will continue a more than 20 year relationship with Daktronics and the college for their sporting venue equipment needs. Their first partnership came in 1989 when Daktronics installed a scoreboard in their Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. In 2007, Daktronics installed a LED display in Davis Gymnasium, home to Bucknell volleyball and wrestling.
“Daktronics is proud to again partner with Bucknell University on this exciting upgrade to Kinney Natatorium,” said Scott Wilson, Daktronics Sales. “The stunning new 10 millimeter video display will make a great addition to what is already an outstanding aquatics venue. We greatly appreciate Bucknell’s long-term relationship with Daktronics and look forward to working with them again.”
