BrightSign, LLC®, a leader in digital signage solutions, has introduced an all-new series of HD solid-state digital signage controllers designed to be more affordable and compact than ever before. This new product line continues BrightSign’s tradition of offering reliable, easy-to-use digital signage solutions while supporting a wide range of applications, from simple kiosk displays to fully interactive networked installations.
“We’re excited about the new players because they deliver the same robust features, signature reliability, and ease of use our customers require, but at prices that are now lower than ever before and on an updated platform that delivers even better media handling capabilities,” said Jeff Hastings, BrightSign CEO. He emphasized that the company’s improved production methods allow for reduced manufacturing costs, which are then passed on to customers without compromising performance.
Next-Generation Features at Reduced Costs
The new HD players are powered by a next-generation microprocessor that enhances media playback performance, making them ideal for demanding 24/7 environments. All models in the series feature Full HD video playback, solid-state reliability (no PC required), and BrightAuthor software for managing content, making it easier than ever for users to create, publish, and monitor digital signage displays.
The product line includes three models to cater to varying needs:
- BrightSign HD120 – Basic Interactive Model: Priced at $250, this model is BrightSign’s most affordable Full HD solution. It includes GPIO interactivity and supports content updates via SD cards, offering robust performance for stand-alone displays.
- BrightSign HD220 – Networked Looping Model: At $350, this version adds networked content updates, live data feeds, and Ethernet synchronization for more dynamic display options.
- BrightSign HD1020 – Networked Interactive Model: Priced at $500, the HD1020 is the most advanced, supporting a variety of interactive features including GPIO, USB, serial, and UDP connections, making it ideal for fully immersive experiences.
BrightAuthor Software and Additional Features
All BrightSign players come equipped with the free BrightAuthor software, which simplifies the process of creating and managing digital displays. Users can integrate live data feeds, such as Twitter and stock tickers, and create synchronized video walls for impactful presentations. The software also supports dynamic playlists, allowing updates without needing to republish entire presentations.
The new players, compact and lightweight, measure just 4.9 x 1.3 x 5.4 inches and weigh only 16.6 oz., making them easy to integrate into various display setups.

The new HD product line will be available starting April 17, 2012, through the BrightSign Store, with distributor pricing available on request.
