Entries for the 2012 DSA Industry Excellence Awards Open Until February 10

The Digital Screenmedia Association (DSA) has announced that entries for the 2012 DSA Industry Excellence Awards are now being accepted until February 10. These prestigious awards aim to recognize the best deployments in digital signage, interactive kiosks, and mobile technology across various market segments.

Award Categories and Entry Requirements

Companies can submit their projects in one or more of the following categories:

  • Digital Out-of-Home Campaign
  • Entertainment/Gaming
  • Financial Services
  • Government/Education/Non-Profit
  • Healthcare
  • Restaurant/Food Service
  • Retail
  • Travel/Hospitality
  • Other (industries not listed above)

A unique Screenmedia Integration Award will also be given to the project that best demonstrates the integration of two or more technologies (digital signage, kiosks, and/or mobile).

Entries are welcomed from both DSA members and non-members at a fee of $195 per submission. Each entry must include a video demonstration of the product in use, and a portion of the project must have been launched between January 1, 2011, and February 1, 2012.

Special Individual and Company Awards

In addition to the main categories, the DSA is also accepting nominations for:

  • Industry Deployer of the Year: Awarded to an individual from an end-user organization (such as retail, government, healthcare, casino, hotel, etc.) who has played a strategic role in innovative screen media deployment.
  • Network Operator of the Year: Awarded to a company that operates networks of digital signs or kiosks, focusing on their success in creating sustainable networks that deliver high-quality, relevant content to their target audience.

No fee is required for submissions in these individual and company award categories.

Judging and Award Ceremony

The winners will be announced at the DSA Pre-Show Party on March 27, just before the Customer Engagement Technology World event in San Francisco. David Drain, DSA’s executive director, expressed optimism about the awards: “Last year was our first year to conduct the awards and we were very pleased with the quantity and quality of the entries. We expect a greater number of entries and a higher level of competition this year.”
