ClearOne, a global communications and entertainment solutions company, announced today that it has been added to the Russell Microcap® Index, following the Russell Investment Group’s annual reconstitution of its indexes. The Russell Microcap Index is constructed to provide a comprehensive and unbiased barometer for the microcap and smallcap segments trading on national exchanges.

“ClearOne’s inclusion in the Russell Microcap Index is a clear acknowledgement of our effort to increase the market value of the company,” said Zee Hakimoglu, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ClearOne. “We are pleased with this important milestone achievement for ClearOne and expect this membership to increase our exposure within the institutional investment community.”

Membership in the Russell Microcap Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the appropriate growth and value style indexes. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

ClearOne also announced its membership to the AVnu Allianceâ„¢, the industry forum which promotes IEEE Audio Video Bridging (AVB) standards. ClearOne joins the growing list of industry stakeholders in the Automotive, Professional, and Consumer Electronics industries who promote Audio Video Bridging AVB and its role in delivering the highest quality A/V experience.

“We are an ardent proponent of technology standards and strongly support the AVnu Alliance mission,” said Michael Braithwaite, ClearOne’s chief strategy officer. “Joining AVnu will help ensure that StreamNetâ„¢ products leverage AVB standards and seamlessly operate on networks with other AVB components.” StreamNet is ClearOne’s innovative technology for distributing, synchronizing and controlling AV content over Internet protocol networks.

“Adopting AVB will let us extend StreamNet to a new level of performance,” said Braithwaite. “We will use it in developing professional, leading-edge AV streaming products that reliably deliver rich multi-media content in high-traffic network environments.”

Audio Video Bridging is a set of standards currently in development by the IEEE 802.1 Task Group. The standards provide professional quality AV to be effectively transported over Ethernet with guaranteed quality of service and low latency.

“Audio Video Bridging provides a robust standards-based foundation for AV distribution for a broad range of applications,” said Lee Minich, Marketing Work Group chair of AVnu Alliance and president of Lab X Technologies. “We welcome ClearOne and their expertise in AV conferencing and networking, and their sharing of our collective vision of an interoperable AVB ecosystem.”
