Montreal content firm’s compelling experiential and marketing work wins three golds and six awards in total at Digital Signage Expo Content and Apex Awards in Las Vegas
Montreal creative services agency Arsenal Media won three top honors and six in total last night at the digital signage industry’s biggest content and project awards – the second year in a row the company has filled its table with trophies at the annual awards dinner.
The company was honored for its work with financial giant Sun Life, the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, Christie Digital and Tourisme Montérégie, a regional tourism authority in Greater Montreal.
The winners were announced March 7th at the annual Digital Signage Expo (www.digitalsignageexpo.net) Content and Apex Awards (held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV. The DSE Content Awards celebrate the best in content-related achievements, while the Apex Awards honor outstanding digital signage installation concepts. DSE is the largest trade show of its kind focused on the fast-emerging digital signage and digital out of home advertising industries.
“These awards are a tribute to the work of everyone involved – our clients and staff,” says Denys Lavigne, President and Founder of Arsenal Media. “Awards are realized because of the commitment clients make to exploring new ideas and optimizing opportunities to connect with audiences. I am particularly proud of the fact that all four of these projects represent different industry segments and different experiences. In this emerging industry and hyper-specialized world, I think it speaks volumes about our capacity to create the right installation concept and the right content for every context.”
FOUR PROJECTS & SIX AWARDS
Sun Life Financial BuzzWall:
Apex Gold For Event Venues
Arsenal Media was commissioned by Sun Life Financial to develop an interactive digital destination to support the company’s sponsorship of IRIS – A Journey Through the World of Cinema™ – a production by Cirque du Soleil®. Created exclusively for the main lobby of the show’s permanent Los Angeles home, the Hollywood and Highland Center, the branded IRIS wall integrates gesture-based interactivity, 3-D augmented reality, mobile, and Christie® MicroTiles® display tiles. The experience allows the audience to interact with elements of the show and learn more about Sun Life. Arsenal worked closely with Christie Digital’s Managed Services division to bring the project together.
“Christie Managed Services and Arsenal Media were there from the start,” says Sally Bray, Director of Advertising and Brand for Sun Life Financial. “They understood our objectives and created an impactful platform that materialized the strong relationship between Sun Life and Cirque du Soleil. Their teams provided an integrated solution, from strategy to concept development, creative production, content development, technical consulting, installation and project management. We were quite impressed with the final result.”
Montérégie Tourism Center:
Content Gold and Apex Silver for Hospitality
The new Maison du tourisme de la Montérégie (Montérégie Tourism Center – MTM) boasts an innovative multimedia lounge concept aimed specifically at tourists, featuring 23 screens, 7 of them interactive. In addition to advising Tourisme Montérégie on the installation concept and technology strategy, Arsenal Media established digital content standards, produced the base for all informative and interactive content, and created soundscapes that adapted to the MTM lounge concept.
“We wanted to rethink the concept of the tourist facility and transform it into a more dynamic, engaging space by capitalizing on digital signage and experience-based technologies,” said Éric Fournier, Executive Director of Tourisme Montérégie. “The Arsenal Media team has supported us in our efforts to align these solutions with our marketing strategy and our approach to the people we serve. The result has received compelling feedback from the 385 member organizations of Tourisme Montérégie, as well as the general public.”
Miami Dolphins BuzzWall at Sun Life Stadium:
Content Gold for Event Venues
Content developed for an immersive multimedia wall at the home stadium of pro football’s Miami Dolphins won a gold for content excellence. The 14-foot-wide, 7-foot-high Dolphins Interactive BuzzWall™ was custom-developed by Arsenal in line with the Dolphins’ marketing strategy using Christie MicroTiles and gesture software developed by Float4 Interactive (http://vimeo.com/17432282). The fan-focused wall had four separate zones of digital content, including interactive motion visuals, live game coverage, mobile engagement, image-sharing features, and more.
“Technology really provides us with the flexibility to have the Sun Life Stadium take on the personality of the event and tailor it to that particular experience,” explains Tery Howard, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Miami Dolphins. “Offering a fully integrated experience is extremely important to us, our marketing partners, our tenants, and our guests. But what has excited me the most is how the wall speaks to all ages.”
Christie Network Operations Center :
Apex Bronze and Bronze for Business, Industry & Government Projects
The project’s objective was to transform an operational tool into a more modern brand experience. Arsenal worked in close collaboration with client Christie Global Marketing and Managed Services on developing a new branding for the “NOC” and digital content strategy. Arsenal also designed and produced all of the content dashboards, transforming the Christie sophisticated but IT-driven visual platforms into more compelling, innovative overviews of Christie’s extensive monitoring and technical activities (enter NOC video link here).
In 2011, Arsenal won three gold prizes and one silver at these awards, for projects involving The Nielsen Company and Christie Digital Systems.
