Wireless Ronin Technologies, Inc, a Minneapolis-based digital signage provider, continues to provide RoninCast® software and supporting services for the ongoing growth of the Thomson Reuters Infopoint digital signage network as it reached 250 displays in over 40 countries in early 2009.
“Thomson Reuters Infopoint has proven to be a great product for news and information distribution to the out-of-home market and we are very pleased to be a contributing factor in its substantial growth over the past two years,” said James (Jim) C. Granger, president and CEO of Wireless Ronin Technologies. “Along with network growth, our relationship with Thomson Reuters has also expanded from software provider to full scale support including technical development, project management, hardware procurement and round the clock network hosting and management through our Network Operations Center.”
To date, the Infopoint network totals more than 250 indoor and outdoor displays of varying size including the world’s longest LED news ticker located in London. The Infopoint network also includes three outdoor LED jumbotrons located in London, Singapore and Toronto, all of which came under Wireless Ronin management in 2008. Infopoint network screens are located in 42 countries including the United States, South Africa, Japan, China, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
“Wireless Ronin continues to prove they are a leader in the digital signage industry with best-in-class software and the service capabilities to implement, manage and support large scale digital signage deployments that are mission critical to our Infopoint product initiative,” said Christopher Burtt, Global Digital Signage Product Manager at Thomson Reuters.
The Thomson Reuters Infopoint digital signage program is designed for out-of-home public spaces, lobbies, waiting areas and walkways. At a glance, viewers are able to consume global news, weather and financial information in a three-minute summary.
At the 2009 Digital Signage Expo, Wireless Ronin and Thomson Reuters were honored for their collaborative efforts on Infopoint, with the show’s Finance/Banking APEX Award. In 2008, they also received the Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) Silver Digital Signage Award in the Government/Education/Corporation Network category.
